How SaferCiti handles your data, secures the platform, and maintains the integrity of Nigeria's most trusted security intelligence network.
All data transmitted between your device and SaferCiti servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3. Stored data uses AES-256 encryption at rest.
Your personal data is never sold to advertisers, data brokers, or third parties. Full stop. SaferCiti is subscription-funded, not ad-funded.
You control location permissions. Precise location is never logged without your consent. Disable or limit location access at any time in device settings.
SaferCiti complies with Nigeria's Data Protection Regulation (NDPR). You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data at any time.
We publish regular reports on government data requests received, how we responded, and any law enforcement cooperation โ so you can trust us.
Found a security vulnerability? Report it to [email protected]. We investigate all reports within 48 hours and credit researchers who help us improve.
Every incident that appears on SaferCiti has passed through our proprietary verification pipeline. This is not a simple filter โ it's a multi-stage process designed to eliminate rumour, misinformation, and malicious reports before they reach users.
Incidents that fail verification are marked Unverified and displayed with explicit caveats. They are never removed โ because even unverified reports contain signal โ but they are clearly labelled so users can make informed judgements.
The missing persons registry is one of SaferCiti's most sensitive features. We apply strict standards:
Users who submit reports are bound by our Terms of Service. Deliberately false reports result in immediate suspension and may be referred to authorities. We maintain reporter metadata (anonymised for display) to identify and remove bad actors from the community.
You can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time from Settings > Account > Delete Account, or by emailing [email protected]. Deletion is processed within 30 days.
