Terms of
Service

Last updated: January 2025. By downloading and using SaferCiti, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the SaferCiti app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. The Service

SaferCiti provides real-time security intelligence, incident reporting, route safety analysis, missing persons tracking, and emergency tools for Nigeria. The platform aggregates data from public sources and community reports. SaferCiti is an information service, not an emergency service. In any immediate emergency, contact the Nigerian Police (112), Fire Service (119), or medical emergency services first.

3. Subscription Plans

SaferCiti offers paid subscription plans:

  • Core (₦2,500/month): Live incident feed, security overview, missing persons registry, and SOS system.
  • Pro (₦6,500/month): Full features including route safety checker, proximity alerts, community watch, analytics, and offline mode.
  • International ($9.99/month): Full Pro features for users outside Nigeria.
  • Enterprise (from ₦500,000/month): Custom solutions for organisations, NGOs, and government agencies.

Subscriptions renew automatically. Cancel at any time through your device's subscription management settings or by contacting us.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fabricated incident or missing persons reports
  • Use the platform to harass, stalk, or harm other users or individuals
  • Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or systematically extract platform data without authorisation
  • Use the platform for commercial purposes beyond your subscription tier without written permission
  • Submit content that violates Nigerian law, including incitement, defamation, or privacy violations

5. User-Generated Content

When you submit incident reports, photos, or other content, you grant SaferCiti a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, verify, display, and distribute that content on the platform for public safety purposes. You remain responsible for the accuracy of your submissions. Knowingly false reports may result in account suspension and legal liability.

6. Disclaimers

Security intelligence is inherently uncertain. SaferCiti provides information to help you make better-informed decisions — it cannot guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of all data. Do not rely solely on SaferCiti for life-safety decisions. Always exercise independent judgment and contact official emergency services in urgent situations.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, SaferCiti's liability for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to the subscription fees paid in the three months prior to the claim.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. We will notify you with at least 14 days' notice for material changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
